    • PAWS Presentation/Gay Pride Gathering hosted by the LGVMA

      • Jim Lear, the PAWS 2002 veterinary extern from the Atlantic Veterinary College, presented a talk entitled "Providing Care for People and their Animal Companion's at PAWS: Lessons Learned from the AIDS Epidemic". The presentation focused on the history and evolution of PAWS, the role of veterinarians and other animal care professionals in maintaining the bond between disabled persons and their animal companions, and the role of the animal care professional as educator and resource center.

      • The presentation was followed by a Gay Pride Gathering hosted by the LGVMA. It was a chance to see the new LGBT Community Center in San Francisco and meet other LGVMAers and friends.
